A fab Family weekend

We were invited to Stoke this weekend for my husbands cousins 30th Birthday. We had a absolutely great time. I thought i would share with you the necklace and card I made for Kate.

She is such a delicate sole so I made her a delicate necklace. I used sterling silver wire for this one. The beads are cream pearls and swarovski crystals.

This is the card I made for her I made the large flower by layering up 8, 3" scalloped circles. You can find out how to do this by putting hand made flowers into you tube. She loved both I am happy to say. It was great to have the weekend with the family. Just a Little fact to amuse you all Kate is 30 my hubby Roger is 40 and Kate's mum, Rogers aunt is 50 putting 10 years between them all and Elizabeth is 10.

My beautifull princesses is growing up.

I took this picture at Kate's party & I just love it I think it is one for blowing up on the wall.

I hope you all managed to have a great weekend.

I've not blogged for a while was kind of thinking why do I do it?

Well I'm still not sure but I have decided to get back to it! As many of you will know I attend class's at Running with Scissors in Grimsby and Tracy recently added a group to face book. The first challenge was set this week and I kind of got my lost bug for craft back and made 2 entries.

This first one is a clip board I have had this in my craft stash for ages meaning to do something with it and the challenge got me thinking. The out line of the challenge was to use black, white and blue and you must use your scissors in some way!

As you can see the butterfly was cut out with my scissors and my papers are black, white and blue. I entered this into the challenge but I woke early the following day with an idea for a box in my head and I just had to make it too.

I can see me making lots more of thees box's in different colours and styles I think they will make great gift filed with lots of nice treats. The papers are all black & white and I used blue ribbon and flowers to fall in the challenge were is the scissor twist? I used them to cut out the shape of the box.

Hope your all having a great weekend.

The first one is a thank you card for a lovely friend that gave me a gorges top recently.
Both cards use similar elements in a different way. All parts of this card were bought from Running with Scissors,

This second one is a Birthday card for one of my lovely Slimming World members.

I hope you enjoy these as much as I did making them.
Take care for now.

An evening of Swing

What a cool evening. John Hampsen at school organised a swing evening to raise funds for both the school and his house charity Help the Heroes. It was an amazing evening shared with some great friends. To help the evening along our table was filed with an array of fresh cheese, olives, mixed crackers, humas and crusty bread.

The Jazz pack were great and there singer and sax player were both just amazing.

The boy's choristers come along to sing they all dressed in shades bless they were sooooo cool. James Gillet year 6 played the piano.
The Girl Academy Coir sang a massive selection of songs. In there first set they sang along with Mrs Benzon playing piano and in there second set they sang along with the Jazz pack it was such a great evening.

My own scrap book pages

As many of you will know I attend a scrap booking class at Running With Scissors in Grimsby. I tried some time ago to do my own scrap book pages but just thought they weren't quite right hens I started the class's.

Well this week I thought I would once again try to do my own scrap book pages, these are the result.

The papers are by Bo Bunny the just spoke to me in the shop. The photo's are of Elizabeth when she was about 3 grandma bought her Chinese P J's back from one of her many holidays and being me couldn't help but take some cute photos.

Last week I came home to Elizabeth sobbing in tears she had lost her favorite book mark. The only way I could get her to stop was to promise to make her a new one. I let her go through all my stamps and she chose a new lili of the Vally stamp that I had just received in the post, I didn't have the hart to tell her it was a Christmas Angel.
Not the traditional shape I know but then isn't the point of crafting to use your own vision and do something a little different.

I embellished it with both a cross and an angel out of my stash I'm sure the angel came from running with scissors it has hand made with love on the back and the cross I purchased from the Range. plus lots of ribbon. Well it is for Elizabeth.

I used both Stamping up and Tim Hols distress inks to colour her in. Once it had dried I added stickels to her wings to make them glitter in the light.

The final verdict from Elizabeth it's really cool and I love the Angel.

I hope you are all having a great weekend in this lovely sunshine.

A busy Saturday
Roger invited Danny, Louise and there boy's over for a BBQ. Elizabeth was struggling with the sun so I popped in the house to get her a hat. This gave Roger an idea and he ran in the house himself bringing back out with him his two cowboy hats.
When we are abroad non of us tolerate the sun very well. I tend to hide in the shade although my joints appreciate the worm my skin doesn't wont the sun. Elizabeth has an array of hats with her but Roger tends to forget his bless him. This results in new hats coming home with us after each holiday. The one Roger is wearing came back from Cyprus and the one Danny has on came from Turkey. The hole time we were in Turkey the local restaurateurs would shout out to him hello cowboy you come try our menu. It was a good laugh. So here are my Broughton cow boys.
Elizabeth and I had to leave them all in the garden to get of to Beth's Birthday which was held at Cleethorpes leisure center. This is the card that I made for Beth. She is an Elizabeth but prefers Beth unlike my Elizabeth who never like her name to be shortened which is just as well as they are both in the same class. So this is the card I made for her.
The stamp I used is from Lili of the valey .
Elizabeth says it is her & Beth reading a book together. Bless

I used Tim Holtz distress inks to colour in the image.

I sprayed the flowers with pearl Glimmer Mist to give them a lovely shimmer.

Hear is hope that you all having a great week end.

What as busy few days
I was approached by a lady to make 16 pairs of earring as wedding favours for her female guests. The colour theme is turquoise and these are the very shiny result. What a lovely gift. I know I would feel a very special guest to receive these beautiful Swarovsike earrings.

While I was sat making the wedding earrings I decided to have a bit of a play with some black Swaovski hart that arrived in the same delivery.

I know I have made this necklace before in a different colour before but I love this one. I have worn this a few days already and can see it being a favourite.

My final picture to share today is a card I made for a special college Maureen. As many of you will know I am a Slimming world Consultant and have been doing this very wonderful job for 9 and a half years. Maureen joined my group as a member after about 6 months of me staring working for Slimming World and lost if I remember correctly 6 stone. After reaching target and some convincing Maureen decided to going are wonderful team of consultants in the Scunthorpe aria. I have done many jobs with Slimming world such as aria manager and time of as a temp through all this time Maureen has been there supporting members as a member herself and then a consultant. I just wonted to share with you what a special lady she is and this is the Birthday card I made for her.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Maureen x

Hoping you are all well.

Stressful times
Not much blogging going on at the minuet guys I am sorry. The brain at the moment is plugged full of worry and stress this unfortunately means not much crafting being done. Having said that when I have sat down to do something it has helped take my mind of it all. 2 weeks ago Roger was told he had 4 weeks of work left we are used to being given notice it is part of contract work how ever he usually has a job lined up to go to and hasn't been out of work for 11 years. Only this time it would seem the resection has finally truly hit our home. On top of all this My sister has been quite unwell and we have all been really worried about her.
Me being the person I am and having found a new range of stamps in the Scunthorpe garden center decided to make her a card to let her know I love her very much and hope she gets well soon. The stamp is from Wild Rose Studio and I coloured it in using Tim Holtz Distress Inks. The papers are from my lovely stash and the flowers and pins came from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Put your feet up hun and relax for a while we love you millions.

Today is my 12th wedding anniversary
So I thought I would share just a few pictures from my wedding day. In my album are 145 pictures I have just put 3 onto here. I hadn't until today thought about about scanning my photo's onto my computer but I will now xx lol. If I scan them onto my computer I can re print them and then make them into a scrapbook :-) yay.

We got married at Broughton Church followed by our reception at Forest Pines.
We went to Forest pines 2 years ago for our anniversary and stayed in the same room. It had all changed there was no longer a 4 poster bed and has been expanded so much the lovely little conservatory I had the bellow picture in is now huge. Never the less we had a romantic evening.
This year we have put our celebrations on hold for a few weeks. Roger was given his notice at work and were worried about spending anything we don't have to. The main thing is were all together and happy. We can have a party at any time.

It was a wonderful day I wouldn't of changed a thing.
I Love You Roger
More today than yesterday but less than tomorrow.

What you can get done when you put your mind to it
I was asked to make a necklace for a child at school by one of my lovely mum friends. I have to admit to forgetting about it over the school holidays being to busy with the opening of my new Slimming World group. So when asked for the necklace i had to get a Rigel on. I came home not knowing what i was going to do and go lots of beads out on the playroom floor hoping they would speak to me. Well they did in volume. Would you believe I forgot to photo them before I took them to school so the one Mary bought I don't have to show you, SORRY. I can however show you the others I made all on Wednesday evening.
This first one is swarovski butterflies and crystals on a sterling silver chain.

I have kept this one for myself i loved it so much. very naughty I know I'll never be rich will I. it is a wire choker with silver plate beads and swarovki harts dangling down in Pail pink & clear crystal.

This one is a mix of lovely pastel beads & crystal.

My final one of the evening a funky on trend yellow & black necklace there are lots of bright colours around for this summer so I thought i would make something to reflect those colors.

Well as i said earl ya I have been sooooooooooo busy with promoting my new slimming World group at The Royal in Scunthorpe. I opened on Tuesday with a disappointing 10 new members. I was however given lots of support from my lovely manager Roz and a great big hug. THANKS ROZ !! I posted on my face book my disappointment with the amount of people I had through the door & was sent some lovely messages form friends & family who all said once people had come to the group they would spread the word as I am a great consultant & have a very some great bubbly happy group already. I am sure they are right when they tell me it will grow I was just disappointed on the day but I will get it there.

And finally you know when you suddenly realize you have a birthday you have forgot & only 10 minuets to come up with something well this is what I came up with on such an occasion. I had forchanetly been playing with some of my stamping up stamps the day before. I had painted the flower & printed the happy Birthday button I had also glazed them. I used my lovely new circle cutter bought from Running with scissors to mount up the flower & punched out some butterfly's. Quite a funky card for a young friend.

Hear is to spending more time playing with my lovely craft bits in the play room (mine & Elizabeth's lol)
Take care

A lovely day with family not seen for 23 years.
What a lovely day. Roger's dad suggested we go crew to visit some family myself and Elizabeth have never met and Roger hasn't seen for 23 years. We arrived at Tracy's and immediately were made to feel at home. It was a bit like Roger had seen her yesterday and we had all been friends for years.
I went to visit Cathleen and Graim last time I was in Wales but they have moved up to Crew now to be nearer family. Roger was so pleased to see them all with being an only child and his farther an only child he really doesn't have much family. Roger and Tracy share the same Great granny.

Elizabeth thought it was just great to have 2 more cousins Jodie & Lauren (twins) are just a year younger than Elizabeth so they all got on famously and have promised to keep in touch. I believe they have sorted between them that they are going to come to us for a visit in the summer holidays.

The Roger and Paul did a BBQ lunch which was absolutely lovely. I few glass's of wine were shared just to help the party feel along I still can't believe that Roger hasn't seen them for 23 years. I don't think that will happen again.

Cath & Brian live in Australia most of the time so it was a real treat to be able to meat them.

Life is to short to let it slip by. If you haven't seen a family member for a while pick up the phone to say Hi. You never know when they will no longer be there to say hello to.

love as always

A very proud Elizabeth with her new bike. They are doing a bike ability coarse at school Elizabeth took her bike in to be checked and was told hers was to small.
Grandad came up trumps with a new one for his special girl.

Being a only child Elizabeth has enough toys to open her own shop.
So when her favourite set of twins (fortunately they had there hair different today so I knew which was which) come to play they spend most of there time playing with sticks on the field at the bottom of the road and then in a box in the garden. Bless them.

I love school holidays

Mad Mandy's Birthday Party

Mandy's parties are always great every body just lets there hair down and has fun.
Roger can't resist a big hug.

Steve recently cut his hair to what for him is short! only thing is we all kept saying he looked like willy wonker lol. So just for all our amusement he went and bought a pair of white glasses to finish of the look. Roger with a bit of orange on the inside of his coat thought he would be an umpa lumpa. Don't think he really pulls it of especially being 6ft 4"

This is a close up of the lady i painted on Mandy's card. Mandy is mad on purple so i tries to use purple & blue colours. I wonted to sparkle up the chin down her back & really could of done with some black stickles but I didn't have any so I used by black & silver glitter eye liner.

I also didn't have any blue or purple flowers so i sprayed white ones with glimmer mist this gave me the colour I needed and added a bit of shine.

A big Happy Birthday Mandy thanks for a great night as always.
